Bremner Square, Leeds United

Leeds United

A supporter landmark built around club heritage.

Leeds United appointed Intaglio to deliver the personalised paving scheme at Bremner Square, the public space surrounding the statue of Billy Bremner at Elland Road.

More than a physical addition to the stadium, Bremner Square tells the story of Leeds United. At its centre stands the club’s most celebrated captain, alongside the Leeds United XI as voted for by supporters. Surrounding them, personalised fan stones form a permanent record of those who continue to back the club.

The Challenge

Bremner Square is a key heritage space at Elland Road. The installation needed to respect the prominence of the Billy Bremner statue while integrating the fan voted XI and a large scale supporter paving scheme.

The design had to feel balanced and appropriate to its surroundings. It also needed to accommodate high volumes of personalised stones without compromising layout, clarity or long term durability.

Leeds United required:

  • A layout that worked around the statue and heritage elements
  • A scalable supporter sales platform
  • Accurate engraving across thousands of individual stones
  • Coordinated installation within a busy public space

The Solution

Intaglio planned and delivered the Bremner Square scheme from concept through to installation, working closely with the club to ensure the heritage elements and supporter personalisation worked as one cohesive space.

The Results

Bremner Square now forms a permanent supporter feature at Elland Road.

The scheme delivered:

  • A large scale personalised paving installation
  • The meaningful integration of the Billy Bremner statue and fan voted XI
  • A structured supporter sales platform
  • An additional revenue stream for the club
  • A permanent feature embedded within a key heritage space
  • An opportunity for supporters to secure their own part in this special location

Today, fan names sit alongside the statue of Billy Bremner and the Leeds XI, creating a lasting link between the club’s history and its supporters.
