A permanent tribute to 100 years at Wheldon Road

Intaglio Creative is proud to be delivering the Centenary Wall for Castleford Tigers, a personalised commemorative tile scheme marking 100 years of the club, founded in 1926.

Displayed on the exterior of the famous Wheldon Road end at the OneBore Stadium, the wall gives supporters a place to pay a permanent tribute, whether honouring a loved one, marking a cherished memory, or simply recording their own loyalty and support for the club.

The first phase of tiles was installed ahead of the Tigers home fixture against Catalans Dragons on 28 August, the exact date of the club’s inception a century ago.

The Challenge

The club wanted to honour their centenary year with a permanent, visible mark and one that allowed supporters to take part directly and become part of the club’s legacy. The club wanted part of the scheme to be unveiled in time for the 100thanniversary fixture.

The programme needed to:

  • Give supporters an accessible way to leave a personal, permanent mark on the club
  • Reflect a century of history at a ground supporters already know well
  • Offer a choice of tile sizes, styles and price points to suit different budgets and messages
  • Achieve first phase installation in time for the club’s home fixture on its exact 100th anniversary date

The Solution

Intaglio worked with Castleford Tigers to create a tile scheme that gave every supporter a personal way to mark the club’s centenary. The result is a permanent installation built around choice, timing and a location supporters already hold dear.

Built around supporter choice

Two tile sizes and styles let supporters customise their place with messages of tribute, whether honouring family and friends or marking their own loyalty to the club.

A century, marked on matchday

The wall sits on the exterior of the Wheldon Road end of the OneBore Stadium, giving supporters a permanent landmark to find on every visit.

Timed to the exact centenary date

The first phase of tiles was completed ahead of the fixture on 28 August 2026, the 100th anniversary of the club’s formation.

The Results

A new permanent landmark at the OneBore Stadium, giving Castleford Tigers supporters a lasting place in the story of the club.
