Marking cricket history where it happened.
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) appointed Intaglio to deliver The Father Time Wall at Lord’s Cricket Ground, recognising the 100 greatest milestones to take place at the Home of Cricket, as voted by MCC Members.
Located at Cavendish Close behind the Grandstand and the redeveloped Compton Stand, the permanent installation pairs the selected milestones with personalised zinc plaques, giving Members and supporters the opportunity to secure their own place alongside the moments that shaped Lord’s.

The Challenge
MCC required a commemorative installation that respected the heritage and status of Lord’s while introducing a structured personalisation scheme.
The wall needed to sit comfortably within one of cricket’s most recognised venues and reflect the significance of the 100 milestones selected by Members. At the same time, it had to accommodate thousands of personalised plaques without losing clarity of design or long-term durability.
With separate options for Members and non Members, and multiple plaque sizes and positions available, the sales and fulfilment process needed to be carefully structured and easy to navigate.
MCC needed:
- A design befitting of the heritage of Lord’s
- Clear differentiation between the Member and non Member options
- A scalable and controlled e-commerce platform
- Premium and durable materials suited to a landmark venue
- A delivery partner capable of managing a complex multi-phase scheme
The Solution
Partnering closely with MCC, Intaglio designed, produced and installed the Father Time Wall at Lord’s, creating a lasting tribute to the Club’s history and its supporters.

A deeply meaningful design with 100 milestones
The wall was built around a central narrative celebrating the 100 most significant moments, as voted for by Members. Imagery and text were etched across zinc plaques to create a continuous visual story along the installation. More than a wall, the design had real meaning and impact and enabled members and supporters to add their personalised message alongside the 100 milestones.

Structured to give choice and scale
A bespoke e-commerce platform enabled supporters to choose from two plaque sizes and three installation positions. The system differentiated clearly between MCC Member and non Member options and was built to handle orders at scale.
To date, over 5,000 personalised zinc plaques have been engraved and installed. Supporters have used the scheme to mark cricketing memories as well as personal milestones such as births, weddings and anniversaries.

Managed end-to-end
Intaglio oversaw engraving, production, installation and supporter enquiries throughout the programme. Following installation, purchasers received confirmation and a reference identifying the location of their plaque so they could easily find it.
Replica plaques were also offered, presented in MCC Member and non Member branded sleeves, with the option of a personalised certificate of authenticity.
The Results
The Father Time Wall is now established as a permanent commemorative feature at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The scheme has delivered:
- Over 5,000 personalised zinc plaque sales
- A multi-phase installation spanning more than three years
- A structured and scalable Member and non Member sales platform, providing an additional revenue stream
- A permanent installation recognising both historic milestones and personal memories
The wall now forms part of the matchday experience at Lord’s, linking the club’s defining moments with the Members and supporters who continue to be part of its story.
The scheme is still live and plaques are available at https://fathertimewall.lords.org
