Japandi is the perfect fusion of Scandinavian design with Japanese style. This presents a real opportunity for our engraving team to create something very special. At the heart of both of these well known styles is simplicity, this core element draws them both together creating a very minimalist style using neutral materials. Our team then can create a layer of engraved detail that really helps deliver the contrasting textures synonymous with this fusion.

Mixing Wood 

This style mixes the light wood tones of Scandinavian design with the dark wood, which is tradition in Japanese style. We can engrave on most types of wood, here we show a bespoke pattern engraved onto oak alongside our engraved Florence design on a wood-effect tile, which is the ideal way to add warmth to your Japandi scheme. Both bring texture to your design that only Intaglio can deliver.

Engraved Tiles

All our tiles deliver texture and relief, creating the visual interest that this style demands. Selecting first the colour, whether that is soft neutral creams or a crisp white, the subtle texture that an engraved tile will deliver will really bring an attention to detail to your scheme. Or if you would like to go bolder, alongside the dark Japanese woods it’s possible to select a darker tile that will really show off the engraved pattern. We can replicate any pattern to engrave onto tiles, we show here a minimalist Abaco linear design that would work well with any modern Japandi design.
