Designing New Homes

Designing New Homes

In July, the chancellor announced that the stamp duty threshold on residential properties sold was to be increased from £125,000 to £500,000 until 31 March 2021.

As we see more people moving across the coming months to take advantage of this change, we thought it would be a good time to explore planning, Instagram inspiration and of course engraving style for new homes.

It starts with a Brief

Look at the practical aspects of the room, its functions and how it will be used. Once you have this list together, you can start on the aesthetics, the theme and style you want to create. The materials we engrave are very versatile and it is a good time to start to think about the practicalities at this stage. We list below just a few of the materials below that we work with;

  1. Ceramic & Porcelain Tile
  2. Outdoor Porcelain
  3. Wood
  4. Zinc
  5. Dekton
  6. Silstone

Create your Style Guide

Where do you look for inspiration, start with places you have visited, the small details you have liked whether that’s in a hotel, restaurant or simply on social media with the likes of Pinterest or Instagram. Start to create your own Style guide, and you can then look at the colours and patterns to bring your chosen look to life. We can engrave any design onto a variety of materials, here we list just some of our favourite designs –

  • Art Deco Style – Intaglio Fan
  • Italian Inspiration – Intaglio Florence Design
  • Linear Lines – Abaco
  • 70’s Inspired – Fronzolo
  • Jungle or Animal Inspired – Flamingo or Tiger
